01

Diagnostics

Ninety-two markers, read twice.

The panel is the same at week 0, week 12 and week 24. Same laboratory, same assay, same time of day. Otherwise the comparison is not a comparison.

02

Composition

What the panel contains

Grouped by system. Every group exists because a result in it could change a decision.

Lipids and lipoproteins

18

Total cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C, triglycerides, apoB, apoA1, Lp(a) once, and the ratios that follow from them.

Glucose regulation

9

Fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HbA1c, HOMA-IR, and C-peptide where insulin resistance is in question.

Inflammation

7

hs-CRP, ferritin with transferrin saturation, homocysteine, and fibrinogen. Read against recent illness, always.

Liver, kidney, electrolytes

22

ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, bilirubin, albumin, creatinine, cystatin C, eGFR, urea, and a full electrolyte set.

Endocrine

16

TSH, free T4, free T3, thyroid antibodies, cortisol, DHEA-S, and the sex hormone panel appropriate to you.

Micronutrients and haematology

20

25-OH vitamin D, B12, folate, magnesium, zinc, iron studies, and a full blood count with differential.

03

Sequence

From draw to decision

Nothing is interpreted by telephone and nothing is interpreted without your history in front of us.

Day 0Day 1Day 7Day 10

Day 0

Consultation and draw

Ninety minutes. History first, then six tubes, fasted. We write down what each group of markers could change.

Day 1

Laboratory

Samples leave for the accredited laboratory in Zug at 06:00. Hormone assays are batched by cycle day where relevant.

Day 7

Physician read

Your named physician reads the panel against your history and, from the second panel onward, against your own previous values.

Day 10

Review

Forty-five minutes. Every out-of-range value is discussed, including the ones we are going to leave alone.

04

Sample report

A cardiometabolic group, at week 12

The third column is the value from week 0. Direction of travel is the point; the reference range is context.

Lipoprotein(a) is largely genetically determined and does not respond to lifestyle change. It is measured once. Its value here changes how aggressively the other lipid targets are set, which is the only reason we measure it.
